WEST DEPTFORD TWP. -- A Pennsylvania woman was charged with drunken driving following a head-on collision on Interstate 295 this morning, according to state police.
Eileen Dougherty, 26, of Boothwyn, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes shortly before 4:30 a.m. when her Toyota Prius smashed into a Ford F150 pickup truck driven by Mark Rohrback Jr., of Cinnaminson, police said.
Rohrback's truck ended up on the guardrail on the left shoulder near mile marker 21.4, where the vehicle burst into flames. He escaped the flames but was transported to Inspira Medical Center Woodbury with minor injuries.
Dougherty was unconscious when emergency responders arrived and had to be cut from her vehicle. She was transported to Cooper University Hospital, Camden, with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Just how she ended up traveling the wrong way on the interstate remains under investigation, police said.
All southbound lanes were closed by the wreck, but the scene was cleared by 7:15 a.m.
