Police have released the identity of the man who died after slamming his car into a tree early Saturday morning. A female passenger was also injured in the accident.
VOORHEES -- Police have identified the 37-year-old man who died after slamming into a utility pole and several trees while driving early Saturday morning near White Horse Road and Hamilton Drive.
William Bermudez, of Voorhees, was driving east in a 2011 Acura with a woman in the passenger's seat when the vehicle veered off the road toward oncoming traffic, striking a utility pole and several trees, according to a statement posted on the Voorhees Police Department's Facebook page.
Bermudez was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and died, police said.
The female passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to Virtua Voorhees.
The accident is still under investigation by the Voorhees Police Department.
