VOORHEES -- Michelle Gollapalli, vice president development and Kennedy Health Care Foundation executive director, was honored with a 2015 "Women of Achievement" award by the Garden State Council - Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The award is presented annually to outstanding women in business from the six counties served by the Garden State Council in southern New Jersey. Gollapalli is 2015's Gloucester County recipient.
At Kennedy, Gollapalli oversees all of the health system's fundraising efforts, including its annual gala and golf outing, both of which raise funds to support various patient-centered programs and services.
A 1994 graduate of Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, India, where she earned her BA degree, Gollapalli received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (marketing) from the Mount Carmel Institute of Management in 1996. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), considered the global standard certification for the fundraising profession; a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP), through American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; and a certified Master Trainer for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) International.
Gollapalli was named one of South Jersey Biz magazine's "Women to Watch" last year, as well as one of South Jersey magazine's 2014 "Super Women of the Year."
This is the fourth year the "Women of Achievement" award has been given, and the second since the merger of councils and the creation of the Garden State Council, which administers the Boy Scouts of America program in South Jersey. The council is chartered by the National Council, BSA, and provides program and administrative support for the Scouts and units within the council territory. The Garden State Council is one of the largest youth-serving organizations in South Jersey.
