3 Kennedy Health nurses honored with 'Nurse of Year' awards

VOORHEES -- Three Kennedy Health nurses were honored by the March of Dimes - New Jersey Chapter with "Nurse of the Year" awards at a special event held  at Pines Manor in Edison. This was the 10th annual March of Dimes - New Jersey Chapter Nurse of the Year Awards, a program that recognizes nurses who demonstrate excellence and achievements in research, education, quality patient care, innovation and leadership in 19 different categories.

Kennedy Health "Nurse of the Year" winners are:

Gina Ray Nurse of Year.jpgGina Ray, RN-BC 

* Gina Ray, RN-BC, of Rancocas -- named a Nurse of the Year in the category of Behavioral Health. Ms. Ray displays professionalism and pride in her many roles within the Behavioral Health program at Kennedy University Hospital in Cherry Hill. As a Charge Nurse, she seeks effective solutions to challenges on the job.

Jean Lucero Nurse of Year.jpgJean Lucero, BSN, RN 

* Jean Lucero, BSN, RN, of Sewell -- named a Nurse of the Year in the category of Hospice, Home Health, Palliative Care, Long Term Care. A 10-year Kennedy associate based at the Kennedy Health Care Center in Sewell, a long-term care facility. A caring and compassionate nurse, Lucero encourages her patients throughout the day, singing and dancing with them, cheering them on in the hallways as they walk independently for the first time, or simply holding their hand while she talks to them.

Kim Packer Nurse of Year.jpgKim Packer, MS, RN, NEA-BC 

* Kim Packer, MS, RN, NEA-BC, of Berlin -- named a Nurse of the Year in the category of Nursing Administration. As Kennedy's Corporate Director of Clinical Excellence, Packer took the lead on the annual Nursing Survey -- meeting with each nurse manager to help make meaningful use of the results. Ms. Packer is known for effectively collaborating with all members of the Kennedy organization to promote clinical excellence.

The March of Dimes honords nurses across the State of New Jersey for their nursing excellence and commitment to the health and wellness of our communities.
