The married couple are accused of running a scheme where they stole audiovisual equipment and resold it online for the past eight years.

MOUNT HOLLY -- A husband and wife are facing theft charges Thursday after authorities said they stole a total of $322,000 worth of equipment from their Moorestown employer over eight years.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said Voorhees couple Gustavo and Donna Gomez, 42 and 59 respectively, were charged with theft by deception, computer criminal activity and conspiracy to commit theft on Dec. 21 following an 18-month investigation.

While their company was not specified, authorities said it rents and sells audiovisual and lighting equipment, live event production services and other entertainment services.

Gustavo Gomez, the company's audiovisiual inventory control manager, and Donna Gomez, the company's general manager, are accused of stealing $322,968 worth of equipment from 2006 to 2014 and reselling the products over the course of 107 online auctions. The stolen items were sold for roughly half their value.

The couple is also accused of altering paperwork to hide their tracks, which caught the attention of their employers a year and a half ago. The pair's employer also noticed that the company's equipment and equipment that was ordered for customers was appearing for sale on the online auction website.

The charges will be brought before a grand jury, which will decide whether or not to indict the Gomezes.

Both are free after posting $50,000 full-cash bail each.
