Jackpot was largest in more than a month
A one-week Jersey Cash 5 jackpot drought ended Tuesday night with the largest payout of the year.
As a result, someone who bought a $1 ticket at a South Jersey convenience store won $908,427.
The lucky ticket for the daily game was sold at Super Deals Food Market on Marlton Pike in Pennsauken, state lottery officials said Wednesday morning.
The winning numbers drawn were 4, 15, 17, 20 and 40.
No tickets had been sold matching all five numbers since Jan. 19 when a ticketbuyer in Lincoln Park won a $432,947 jackpot.
Tuesday's jackpot is the largest to date in 2016 and the biggest prize won by a single ticket since a $929.455 ticket was bought at a Jackson convenience store last month.
In other lottery news, this evening's Powerball jackpot is worth $75 million with a cash option of $47.4 million.
No one across the country hit Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot, pushing the top prize for Friday to $56 million. The cash option will be $35 million.
